I need some help with an FX Royale 400 firing valve.

This is an older 400 without the power adjustment wheel...I degassed to install a huma reg...I was careful to not dry fire without air...
I suspect myHST pushed the valve out of where it goes. So now it just dumps air out the barrel ...valve apparently can't shut
....before I destroy something can someone here walk me through a fix or disassembly....
Also when I need them most YouTube has shut down many videos that showed the valve work...

thanks in advance...

I had this happen once with a Boss.
Put the rifle's bottle back on and make sure it's unloaded but ready to shoot. Point in a safe direction. Cock it. Hook up your supply bottle and get the air flowing, don't be shy. Get the air flowing through it good. Remain ready to stop the flow. Pull the trigger. If the valve reseats, stop the flow of also that you don't refill your rifle too fast.
That should basically bounce the valve back and forth and the flowing air should help it to reseat. I actually did this with the rifle's CF bottle by screwing it on until the air was running through it. I don't recall how to fix this if your working with a hand pump.
This is the only time I'd suggest dry firing a Royale series rifle! Over time, dry firing can cause internal damage. But, it would take hundreds of shots to do so, not just one or two.

Thanks Tominco.... Everything looks good... valve, seat, orings etc...no issues leaking before the degassing....
i suspect that a need that quick fill blast of air to move the valve forward tight enough to seal the system....I'm a pump guy right now and I don't know anyone with a tank that can give me a quick blast and a fill up....(I'm south of Reno, Nevada, if anyone cares to volunteer about 400 cc of 220bar air.)
I don't think a slow fill method is gonna do it....

10X, with the valve assembly in place can you see the hammer end of the valve stem protruding into the hole on the side of the receiver. If you can see it you should be able to push it forward with a small hex wrench or something similar, toward the muzzle and feel the resistance from the valve return spring. Here is video that shows how the valve goes back together in case you suspect something is wrong with it.

Jim,
My Royale 400 does not have that handy peekaboo hole....not having it, explains why they got it there now....
My valvepin was "sticking" because of a slight peening of metal where the valve protrudes and the hammer landed against the action block.....mine was an easy fix because it was ever so slight...just enough so that slow filling would not push the valve past the sticking point and seal..

I happened to have a .156" 5/32nds drill, .001 bigger than the valve pin and was able to remove the tiniest bump causing the sticky valvepin with a mere twist of the drill bit in my fingers...about 3 times....any bigger a bump to remove and I would've been shipping the gun out.
I bought the gun used and recall hearing that before shipping to me it was dry fired down to 120 bar (or so)...of course a new gun arrived and I had to cycle it a few times myself at this fill level...never thought it could cause any harm...I did not consider this "dry" firing because it had air...just not enough pressure to prevent the hammer from slamming the frame.
(I'm doing this edit to mention that the HST adjustment was cranked into its max striking force...)
So.....FX ROYALE OWNERS ......DO NOT FIRE OR "DRY" FIRE YOUR GUN BELOW 120 bar...and especially to degas it....damage will occur..and though it is fixable you most likely won't be the guy fixing it

Glen,
The air bottle does have the check valve....not knowing this I degassed using the manometer...of course I discovered the check valve in the bottle.
and yes unscrewing the bottle leaves you with just plenum air to remove....my gun does not have the peekaboo hole in the middle of the action that lets you empty the plenum by opening the valve....
I can open the valve too by removing the HSTensioner...and pushing on the hammer...but geez...it's locktited and set...all that will have to be redone.
That hole looks handy to a guy without one on his gun.

Glem,
The degassing and disassembly was to install the new Huma Regulator....yes I had to drill that breather hole in the action block...it is 2mm and about 3/4 done at the factory ...seems they provided a pilot hole....I shot some old JSBs 16 gr.after a quick HST adjustment....5 shots at 916 fps..hi-917fps, low 915fps....
So I have some fine tuning to do but it seems the Huma install is a success (after some stress with the sticking valvepin...feels like I dodged a bullet on that one)

To follow up....
The HUMA regulator installation is a success....no issues with slow filling or valvepin sticking...
I used Permatex 56521 thread sealant on the factory foster fill fitting ending the slow leak...
Having one of the earliest smooth twist barrels I'm finding accuracy to be excellent...I'm still playing with the HST as in fine tuning but I've gotten to fractions of a turn. ...from what I measured shot to shot velocity is 5 fps....I like that a lot.
