I just ordered a Hawke Sidewinder 30

I would like to use the turrets for my elevation instead of using a hold over technique for my yardage. Is there a guide to how to do this somewhere? I was thinking about zeroing the rifle at 50 yards and then using the turrets for yardages down to 10. I mostly squirrel hunt and very rarely shoot past 50 yards most shots are between 50 and 10 yards. Thanks for the help.

Thanks LSS, let me know how it works out. I have the FX no limit on my Crown now with a Vortex scope that I’m not liking too much. I want to get the Hawke 6-24x56 the only problem is my FX mounts are 1inch not 30. I kind of don’t want to want to get another set of no limits if I can get by with regular high mounts. I will hold off ordering the scope till I know.

Sorry it took so long to get these uploaded.

I Zeroed the scope at 30 yards.

Hawke has and app you can download to you phone or computer that is pretty neat its called X - ACT. You can plug in your pellet weight, average velocity type of reticle, magnification setting and the program will tell you where to hold based on your zero and the other info. I used the program when I set my scope up and I was dead on. Took a lot of the trial and error out of figuring out the hold overs.
