Hawke sidewinder modification

I have the Hawke sidewinder 8-32 X 56 and bought the anti reflection device to replace the 4 " sunshade. The ARD works great except that there is no accomodation for using the factory lens cover. So it was off to the shop and 1/4" of the sun shade was parted off in the lathe and the the threaded section was epoxied onto the front of the ARD.Now the lens cover screws on as it did before. Would have been nice if Hawke would have had this threaded section made onto the ARD to begin with.

If you already use a 4" sunshade, why do you need an ARD? Are you shooting in the direction of a sunrise or sunset? This is an airgun and not a sniper rifle. I don't think you need to camouflage the glare of your shooting position in the field of combat. In my opinion an ARD is unnecessary on an airgun plus a Hawke Sidewinder isn't that optically bright to begin with so adding an ARD would diminish your optics.
