Has anyone tuned the new FWB Sport?

I'm sure a pro tuner could improve on the FWB sport, but I'm not sure if Vortek or JM offer drop in tune kits. If you give Vortek the correct specs, Tom can build you a custom kit.

There was a lot of interest in this gun when it was introduced. But after the launch, I have seen very few reviews or post of any kind from owners. FWB = quality so I'm sure it is well built. How has your experience been with this gun?

Could not find any after market tune parts, so per the Pyramid blog on the Sport, I just did a lube tune and it made a huge difference. Really tamed the violent let off and severe spring buzz. The gun is actually enjoyable to shoot now and groups a whole lot better. After spending a chunk of change on the gun, I really did not want or thought I would have to send it off to get tuned. I expected more from FWB out of the box.

Hi all. My first post - I own the new FWB Sport 19 joules model. I guess that I have been rather lucky as mine was a beautiful shooter straight out of the box. Although I didnt do a full tune, I did tweak it.
My first step was to fit a 6 inch Apex barrel weight. I then substituted my light scope with one that weighted quite a bit more.
By adding the additional weight the Sport feels extremely stable.
I really don’t feel that anything else would be achieved in any meaningful way by doing any further tuning.

As far as accuracy is concerned I use Crosman Premiers that I re- size to 4.51 using a Tinbum Tuning sizer.
I normally don’t like comparing guns, but on this occasion I need a reference point - so in comparison my Sport is more accurate than my TX3 Mk2, over all distances that I shoot.

Since my post, I sent my piston and innards across the pond to Nick at Tbt
tuning. He sent back a new spring, made a top hat as there was none in the original set up, new spring guide and fitted a short stroke seal. Here are the new parts compared to the old. It’s like shooting a new gun.

Yup - bought a new FWB Sport couple months ago (Dec 2018). Really nice quality and accurate but a bit of spring vibration. I added some Maccari "old school" buttons and a 0.5mm PTFE sleeve around the spring guide. Noticeable improvement in cocking and shot. Still has a good kick but that is to be expected with the output (14+ fpe) and weight. Love this gun!
