Has anyone taken their gun to Europe!?

"AirgunNiels"
Well, if they cannot test it, I might as leave it the way it is, ha ha. Seriously though, I do not mind down tuning it, if I only knew how?! I do not want to start messing with the regulator and stuff like that. Maybe I can have two regulators?! One that is way down tuned (by someone that knows what they are doing), and the other one the is "normal"?! It sure looks easier to replace a regulator instead of tuning it... I guess. : )

Thanks,

My advise would be don't take advise on this kind of thing from here. You need facts not opinions. I would not travel anywhere outside the country with anything gun-like without finding out from somebody official if you have permission. Somebody with the authority to tell you "yes" or "no".

I'm usually more in favor of asking for forgiveness than permission but this is one of those things with the potential for horrible consequences that are disproportionate to the crime.

If you accidentally break a country's laws on illegal possession or importation of something they consider to be a firearm, getting your air rifle confiscated would be one of the better outcomes and spending your vacation (or longer) in a foreign jail is a real possibility. It's not worth the risk for the sake of a phone call. It might be no problem but it could also be something that carries mandatory prison sentences like unlicensed firearms do in America.

I was actually in Greece a few months ago and my case had to go through an X Ray when I got off the boat so it's not impossible that they'll find whatever you bring...

I would find out about coming back into the States with it too. I know they are unregulated here but that doesn't mean it can't cause you problems at US customs, even if it's just something that causes a long delay.

I hear you and I agree. However, I am not here for someones opinion, I am here hoping somoene has done it and can give me first hand experience.

I agree.

Again, I agree with everything you are saying. BUT, me asking here does not mean I am not going to make a few calls. Again, I was hoping someone already went this route and can give me some useful tips...

I am sure you like Greece. Most people I know, including me, love it! Anyhow, I am not planning on smuggling something in btw...

Good tip. I will keep that in mind...

"Jonnes"I agree with @zebra on this one. When it comes to weaponry, never assume anything. If for instance you fly to Europe through Germany and your flight gets canceled for some reason, you'll have to transport a potential illegal weapon without a license and that is a criminal offence.
Funny that everyone is ASSUMING that I am assuming, ha ha. Like I said in my last reply, I WILL call some officials at some point. I was just wondering if someone went though this already!? That's all...

Thanks,
