Hare Hunting in South Africa (Video)

Thanks for sharing, Matt. Your productions are getting higher and higher quality, which is awesome, of course, its like watching NatGeo, but knowing how much time and resources goes into making such films - it is even more amazing that you are able to keep up the quantity as well.

I really like how you take small diversions and show us some of the SA nature and wildlife. A bit more of that would not hurt, I think, if you have the material. After all, hunting is about getting out and being with the nature, observing things you would not otherwise.
Cheers!

Thanks Greg, much appreciated. I've got an awesome series coming up where I spend 3 days on a guest farm shooting all kinds of small game. I'm looking forward to uploading them!

Great video! The night hunting certainly adds depth to the hunt but also in the video itself, from the viewer's perspective. Great capturing of the highlights, one of which is the look on Richard's face when he takes the rifle in hand and certainly on accomplishement of his first night time hare with an airgun! It quite obvious your respect for not only the sport and game, but the environment and the community as well, ie supporting local farms and even the workers with some of the fruits of your days take.

"WCT_Editor"Matt,

I was watching this on your YouTube channel, love how the pellet is captured in flight so you can watch where impact occurs. Did you happen to weight them? That one that did the 360 flip looked huge compared to the cotton tailed rabbits I've got here.

Eric
Hi Eric

These are quite a bit bigger than cottontails. This species (Scrub Hare) is about 4kg on average. Not sure what that is in pounds...Around 8 I think?

Glad to hear that Chris. I try to make the video a true reflection of the hunt - Not just the shooting, but all the excitement and emotion as well. I want to make the viewer feel like he's here with me! I hope it comes across like that.
