Does the "shock absorbing" scope mount really do anything? It, along with the autoloader housing, cause problems in mounting a different scope. I would like to do away with it.

Never seen one, sorry. I did go look at a description and based on " 99.9% recoil compensation " for the scope that gizmo if working as advertised should be worth Hundreds of dollars.

I took my Recoil Reducing Rail off my son's .22 Swarm and my .22 Magnum and my mounts/scope are solid. That thing is a gimmick, I like the idea but the little bumper ends up getting compressed and stuffed into the rear portion and then it's just metal to metal. If you don't need the height added for objective clearance, take it off, move the rings back further to get better clearance and get the centerline of hte scope closer to the centerline of the barrel!
