FX Streamline hunting

How are you liking that stock so far? I'll likely be getting the Streamline this spring but having a hard time deciding between synthetic or wood stock. I like the look of the synthetic and the fact that it is lighter but I have heard that it is kind of chincy.

Love the feel of it. It has a rubber type feel. It also has a warm feel to it out in the cold weather. Only disappointment is that it didn’t come with sling studs, so I will be installing those myself.i don’t know what people have meant by chinsy.

I have read that guys who installed bipods and mounts feel like the front of the synthetic stock is too thin and flexible for this. Brian

There is a slight amount of flex at the very end of the fore end. This flex may barely add any pressure againt the air tube. Since the barrel is free floated there should be no impact to accuracy. This stock supports my Harris bipod very nicely. The synthetic stock is an excellent stock for hunting. Bill

Nice job! I keep meaning to do some squirrel hunting with my Streamline, but never seem to get around to it. I have a neighbor who would like to get rid of some. I will have to take a walk through his woods the next time we have a nice sunny day. Our woods are off limits as the wife won't let me shoot her squirrels. Truthfully, I enjoy seeing the wildlife in our woods as well, and would hate to see it all shot off. Pest species are a different matter.

I can hardly wait for the temp to warm into the 30s so I can go at the red squirrels without freezing to death.

Thanks for all the kind words and encouragement. Just got in my new Tac-vector 4.5-18x56 scope and sighted it in today. Great glass. The weather has warmed up a little so I’ll be back out chasing the limb rats later this week.

I used helicolls to mount my bi pod on my bobcat synthetic stock, it lasted three years before one pulled loose. I would recommend through bolting as a friend did on his guns, much stronger. He counter sunk from inside out and used a washer. The material is not as strong as wood must be why some might say its (chincy)

Awesome job! I picked up my Streamline in 25 cal last fall, and it has turned out to be a great hunting rifle. I am the bane of squirrels near and far! I don't know if I will ever treat myself to any of the more expensive FX guns, but I sure am happy with my Streamline. Looks like you are on your way to a great relationship with yours as well.
