FX Impact Default Regulator Setting?

I think 150 is the factory setting (set for maximum potential power). It is possible that yours came off the line a little hot. It is also possible that the gauge is inaccurate.

Before I get to the next part, I would ask if the regulator pressure (gauge) is equal to the gun's pressure gauge when the gun pressure is lower than the regulated pressure. For example, when the gun's pressure gauge reads 140 bar, the regulator pressure gauge should also read 140 bar. If they are not equal, one of the gauges is faulty. If they are both equal, it is more likely that your gun was set a little hotter than it should have been. In that case, read on:

You can lower that pressure. But, there is a process - you need to do it right to avoid damaging the gun.

The impact regulator adjustment can be increased with pressure in the gun. But it can not be lowered with pressure in the gun because it is very bad to screw "against" very high pressure. To clarify, you raise the reg pressure by unscrewing the adjuster screw (located behind the trigger). You lower the regulator pressure by screwing that same screw in - working against the gun pressure.

So, to lower the regulator setting, remove the bottle by unscrewing it (this can be done with pressure in the bottle, as the bottle has its own valving). A small bit of air will escape when you unscrew the bottle (perfectly normal). Then dry fire the gun to remove the air behind the regulator. This will remove the pressure in the gun.

Now you make your screw adjustment to the regulator. Screw it clockwise (lowering the setting) a full turn or two. Then screw the bottle back on, and you will see your new (lower) regulator setting. If it is too low, you can make small (unscrew) turns to raise it to your desired setting. Just remember that you can go "up", but you can't do back "down" if you unscrew it too far. You'll need to remove the bottle and shoot off the regulated air again if you want to do that.

 
On 22 November Michael said AOA sets the regulator pressure at 140 bar using a very accurate gauge. The gauge on your Impact may show a different reading. The one I am shooting shows 150 bar. I'm not sure if 150=140 or if I can shoot lower than what shows on the gauge. There is a notice that came with the gun saying do not shoot the Impact below 110 bar and do not set the regulator below 100 bar. Scott
 
I was also wondering about this.... (not to go below 100 bar?)

I was actually anticipating setting this gun for 12 fpe in .22 caliber. When I watched the review made on youtube from the guy in England (airgun gear show)...I believe the uk spec gun is set at 60 bar?

Ted, do you know if I can achieve this with my USA Spec gun?

 
Ted, the regulator pressure (gauge) is just little higher then the gun's pressure gauge when I drop gun's pressure to below 100 BAR and started to put air back in the gun and at 100 BAR this is what I got on the gauges.

"KenSkylight"I know these small gauge from diving Pony Bottles.
The are very imprecise, and FX has here obviously saved.
I will install on my Impact Wika manometer.
These are slightly larger but usable.

Just like ken wrote, most micro gauges we have tried and tested do read higher or lower, very few would be a exact match.
When tested against larger wika gauges, micro gauges could read in difference of +/-10bar. We were surprised to see some of the walther dominator 1250 gauges read in difference of 25 bar.Yes 25 bar. Not once but on more than one occasion. Wika gauge would read with an accuracy of .5 to 1 but most we have seen is less than 1% and that could be validated against the purchase if you check with your dealer. We rate and use wika gauges the highest. There may be other ones out there too. But this one is trustworthy for sure. If you have a gauge for the regulated pressure and are very keen on knowing where the regulator cuts off just shoot over a chrony to find where the consistent shots starts to drop. Make a mark with a fine permanent marker on the gauge to record that. If it's not one of the cheap micro gauges it will retain its accuracy. Now you know exactly where the reg cuts off and if your shots would be shooting low or dropping poi. 
 
The WIKA mini gauge model 111.12.27 which is a 27mm gauge is still too big to fit into the Fx Impact receiver block where the factory gauge fits into cause the block has a cavity which is about 23mm in diameter. The factory gauge is about 23mm
Here is what I did to get a better reading when I adjected my regulator. I used a 1/8 inch bsp extension micro hose and attached it to a 4 inch WIKA gauge that I had as a test gauge.
