FX Bobcat Shroud Extension

I received a lot of request for this adapter. Just wanted to let everyone know that they are now available. This adapter extends the shroud past the air tube allowing you to put on any 1/2 x 20 female threaded suppressor.

My shroud extension arrived yesterday. Rapid delivery. The anodizing finish is very close match to OEM shroud. This gives me the extension I needed to place the 1/2 UNF just past the air cylinder. Now I have unlimited choices in LDCs for my Bobcat no matter the diameter and length. These adapters are impeccable in quality and construction and the finish is top notch.

I own the .30 version Bobcat pushing 83fpe with 50gr JSBs or Emperors and also an ER tuned 59.6 fpe .25 Bobcat. Both have quite the bark with the OEM 6 piece baffle system. Certainly on the wrong side of the edge of neighbor friendly. With a choice of Donny's excellent Sumo, Ronin, and Shogun LDCs at my disposal, I can shoot either gun comfortably without bothering the neighbors. I have neighbors to each side of me where the distance from my back door to theirs is just at 20 yards. However, there are no houses behind me for miles. I also had a volunteer test participant, a 7 point buck having a snack at 83 yards away. I shot past and over him with the .30 cal with Shogun to his left at my 98 yard target. He looked up towards the impact end but kept eating his salad with no concerns. Didn't even flinch.

Measurements taken with a class 1 proaudio mic placed 7 feet in front and rear at 45 degree off axis. Using C weighting and fast response to capture the full audio spectrum detectable by humans 20hz to 20khz and the quick transient spikes in sounds made by gunshots. All measurements are averages of 5 shots each front and rear. .30 cal Bobcat shooting 50 grain JSB just at 83fpe.

OEM 6 piece baffle stack system = 83 db at a sharp high pitched crack that will get your attention.

Naked no LDC = No way can't do it witout starting the lawn mower up. Prefer not to have the po po show up.

Huggett Regular size = 76 db

Huggett Magna = 74.5 db

Ronin = 73 db

Shogun = 72 db

Observations. The Huggett and the DonnyFL LDCs do a great job at sound attenuation and takes away the crack sound, higher frequency output that is so much more noticeable to humans. The Ronin had the lowest frequencies but a slightly higher db output than the Shogun. I'm guessing the larger diameter comes into play here? It was a good 3 octaves lower in frequency band than the OEM stackable LDC.

Also notable for me is that the more expensive LDCs do not necessarily outperform more economical ones. What a great concept - in this case you get more for less dough.

So bottom line. Donny's products are of very high quality. They are very effective and as a bonus, they are easy to disassemble for maintainence and cleaning. And oh yeah, they are a screaming bargain and are easy to purchase and quickly delivered. As a customer, I really can't ask for more ........well what's the next innovation maybe.

Yes, that could be. I'm certainly no expert with regard to the absolute necessity to clean them from an engineering and health standpoint. I do find it helps to clean them and the various threads on them so they don't stick to any parts, which could require finish damaging tools and force to unstick. I have multiple experiences with LDCs being stuck inexplicably, and I never put them on tighter than finger tight in inch lbs. I own and use 18 various LDCs from various makes and models and base my personal opinions on the experiences I have had.

Cleaning them also ensures a thorough inspection of the connecting points of the end caps or to your adapter, or shroud, or barrel. Shoot through an airgun LDC enough and eventually, you may clip a baffle or a hole in the pellet path for various reasons including my boneheaded moments when I get a double load and not realize it. I prefer having a LDC that I can easily take apart to address. I suppose it could be construed as a personal preference on my part.

Another minor observation is that LDCs that I own that cannot be taken apart seem to grow in weight over time. It is incrementally small weight gains that I can only surmise is coming from the accumulation of lead dust or fragments. Given a choice, I prefer to diassemble and clean occasionally.

tbh all my silencers have been possible to take apart but the amount of led build up is very minor, because tbh they are bit self cleaning. Compressed air is blowing into them ^^.

Only problem i ever had was with the carbon daystate mk3?4? it started to clip .22 pellets but works great on my qb 78 .177 ^^.

My rim fire silencers do need cleaning but VERY seldom, im talking 1000 rounds? havent counted tbh.
