FX bobcat in walnut

"markyboy"Just put the first coat of oil onto the bobcat stock, it's American black walnut and took me around 20 hours work so far to get it looking like this.

Just the stippling and a few more coats of oil and it's finished.

Very nice Mark. Is that your design or an offering from FX? Please tell us more!

Here are a couple more pics and a bit more info of the stock in progress.

The walnut is from my local timber yard here in England, it's a nice American black walnut and does have some nice grain running through it.
To answer a few questions, the scope is a Yukon photon 5x42 night vision scope, it may be named differently overseas.
As it's a digital night vision it can also be used in the daytime but it's not ideal so I just use it for night time ratting at the moment.
The stock has been made so I can just drop in the bobcat action without removing the cylinder so making it a lot easier to clean the action if needed.
I normally use coloured laminate for most of my stocks and I have used walnut on this occasion as it's my first attempt at the bobcat stock.

Here is a pic of the last laminate stock I made for the Air Arms s510.

Maybe the next stock for the bobcat I will do a nice coloured laminate.

That both stocks look great, that green in the s510 looks the dogs danglies!

Got a website I can see any more of your works of art on?

I don't have a website at the moment, I have a page on Facebook where I put my stock pics on.
