FWB 300s Spring comparison

Thanks Bella is the brains of my operation. My particular guns shoots well with both . But just apples to apples I'd say the double is normally more accuy. But there is t like a fast rule or nothing. When I rebuild one I just put in whatever spring is handy and if it doesn't shoot like I think it should I try the other . My mini shot best with a single spring also

The original FWB 300 ( not 300s) came with a single spring ..The 300s has a double spring from the factory . The double spring is supposed to counteract torque since they are wound in opposite directions.
What is odd is that Many of the rifles ive restored had double springs and both springs are wound identical . Best guess is at one time some selling aftermarket double springs were selling them like this ( the springs from ISS are real FWB springs and wound in opposing directions ).
In a nut shell , single springs are usually ( but not always faster )
Double springs are often more accurate. There is no hard and fast rule here . If I were shooting indoors I would recommend the double set up .
Outside in the wind the difference in accuracy which is often small , the single spring is the winner due to the extra speed to help fight the wind.
This is just my personal experience and opinion, but that being said ....Ive rebuilt a Lot of these rifles .
I can say this ...with the double springs the rifles are generally less " pellet fussy" . Out of a well tuned 300s all are capable of scary accuracy regardless of what compresses the air . But single spring set ups often favor only a few pellets .
My 300s will shoot any JSB or AA pellet up to 10.34 like a champ with the double springs . With the single spring in it now ...Its 7.33 or 10.34 or nothing . But it'll shoot AA10.3 pellets spooky good :)
