"Eddy1840"How do you guy notice the difference between a morning dove and the Eurasian
Dove???

A morning dove's color has a darker grey color then a collard dove and you can clearly see the darker spots which is a morning dove. The collard dove is a bigger bird with a light grey color. Almost the size of the commend pigeon, and collard doves of course have that distinctive black strip behind their neck. Once you identify the characteristics of the collard dove, it's really easy to pick them out.

You do have to read read the regs rather carefully. As I recall, the California DFG upland game regs mention Mourning Dove season and in the "methods of take" airguns are listed as permitted. However when you go to the migratory bird section Mourning Doves are also included and the only legal method of take is a shotgun. This had me confused for a while as well.
Welcome and happy hunting!
