Feeder raider takes a round (high speed video)

This is the one I hit in the snout a day or two ago. I felt bad, thinking I'd blown her nose off and she'd go off to suffer a long death, maybe bleed out. My fears were unfounded. It probably hurt, and she didn't sleep much, but there was just some dried blood and fur there. I scrubbed that off for the last pix, and you can see that the .22 Super H-Point just skinned that one area. She didn't make out so well with today's .177 Baracuda Hunter from the Compatto.

I had been sitting at my laptop in the dining room, just keeping one eye out the window. I got a sparrow earlier and the fourth squirrel from my previous video. I thought maybe I'd tag another sparrow or two, so I was surprised when I saw this little bugger shimmying down the lamp cord and onto the feeder. Why? There was plenty of cracked corn and sunflower seeds on the ground, which she'd spilled from a previous session. She was a juvenile; full size skeleton, but kind of scrawny.

Anyway, I waited for the head shot this time. When they're on the feeder, one has to wait until not only the head is still for a couple seconds, but also for it to be off to the side of the feeder, so the feeder isn't blasted when the pellet exits.

I wish the high speed video mode had sound. You should have heard the "POK!" that Baracuda Hunter made when it hit the fuse box!

Anyway, here's the vid.

I'll also add it to the list in my pesting videos post, linked in my sig.

PS - I just noticed my camera in the normal video mode was set for 30 frames/sec for the last several videos. If I had it at 60 fps, the videos with sound would have been a lot more detailed when slowed down.
