Great choise of the hw97k, i have one in 22 and it's very very accurate! If you want it quieter you can tune it down, plenty of power in 12-13 ftp to take some varmint

I'm looking forward to it, it should be here Friday, looks like its going to be a fun weekend. Of course now I need to find the perfect ammo for it. I ordered it from Krale, amazing that it's coming all the way from the Netherlands will be here in 3 days and even with shipping was $170.00 cheaper than getting it Stateside.

I just wanted to thank everyone for your help, The HW97K combined with the Aztec Emerald 5.5-25x50 is an awesome combination. The gun and scope are performing beyond my expectations. The gun was pretty loud with the Crossman Premier's, but the new Diabolo Fields made it a lot quieter. I finally have a gun, scope, and ammo combination that will far exceed my capabilities. The consistency and accuracy is something I didn't think was possible after so many years of fighting with Gamo. I'm seriously hooked, I may get the HW97K .22 version and another Aztec Emerald scope for it.
The only thing I do not like about the HW97K is that the safety is a real pain; I loved the trigger safety on the Gamo, when hunting you can flip it off and on without ever making a sound or moving much. With the HW97K once you take it off safety you have pretty much committed to that shot, or you have to recock it to get the safety to pop back out.

Hi guys, I'm new here. hate to post on an old post but I was looking for something similar with out breaking the bank. 300-350 range. I was checking on the site and didn't find much. this post was the closest I was looking for. I need quiet but something that can take down game/pests

If you live in the US i have read the RWS 34 has been on sale and is very capable of taking out pests, or a hw30s or hw50s are also extremely good airguns that are capable of taking out small pests like birds, rats and squirrels

The only spring gun I own is a HW97 in .177. Mine has a 12 fpe Vortek kit installed, so it is relatively quiet, shoots the 10 gr JSB a bit over 700 fps. Believe it or not, you will someday buy a PCP rifle, and you'll love it. The Daystate Regal is a great value in that market, just something to file away until the bug hits you.

Actually, I met a guy with a Gamo Urban. It was pretty quiet, and it shot good. Not sure what the velocity was. Very lightweight.
I see Pyramid Air has the Gauntlet on sale for the next 3 days at a great price. I haven't seen or heard one, but I think they are supposed to be fairly quiet. I know Hajimoto has an upgrade that is supposed to make it really quiet.
