So yeah I'm new to this.. Up here in Boston.i have reallynobody to really talk to about this... so I ask you for a members ...what's your favorite scope and why Rings . first focal plane or second so I do ask a lot of questions. U guys in my info source .. so far very good source to say the least thank you guys.. I'm about to purchase my first scope I have watched all the videos on this forum and they're very good to say the least..jwr vids r great. Can any of you guys give me some info on what you think the best scope for under $1,000 I want a multi-purpose scope short-range to long-range going to put it on my impact I like the swfa scopes they seem to be pretty durable
 
Hawke TMX, 2nd FP, love the reticle, especially that itty bitty hollow center, clarity, smoothness of operation, price. 
Hawke Sidewinder 20x mil. I like a nice big clear sharp reticle, clarity, smoothness of operation, price.

Vortex for many of the same reasons as Hawke
MTC for the Viper Pro turret 

Adjustable rings = Sportsmatch because they use a setscrew to make the adjustments and lock in place very securely

FX No limits - simplicity
Eagle vision - simplicity, utility, and screw on anti cant level
Fixed rings = No real preference. I usually shop by price. I recently got a set of fixed Sportsmatch rings and I think the softer edges look nicer than the sharper edges that are on most rings. But... this has nothing to do with performance. 

I need to spare the long detailed descriptions since I'm headed out the door!
