DOVE SHOT BAD PLACEMENT.

I think we're all a bit tainted by the on-line videos. While there are posted warnings, the really gory ones don't get on-line, or at least don't stay long. As a result, about all you hear about is head shots. Well, if they're pesky pigeons, not many folk eat them for a variety of reasons, so who really cares where the birds are hit, as long as they're dead?

It may be difficult to believe, but I've done similar damage with a .177—up close of course! And by the way, if the bird has been hit with a 30-30, there wouldn't have been much left.

Dead is Dead. Shot placement is ALWAYS important but power can make up for mistakes which all shooters make. If that shot would have come from a 1322 that bird may not have died so quickly. Luckily it was made with an excellent high powered air rifle.
