 Hi, guys! Thank you for your question! I'm here, just the airgun Varmint and BR on 100 meters competitions are coming up every weekend, so too little time to review forums!

Here I will describe RusBear's ScopeCam and answer any questions about it! Hope you will like it, guys!

Just a bit of RusBear's ScopeCam building history.

I'm the fan of extremely far (50 - 120 meters is normal) and accurate (4cm (1,5") shooting with my PCP, that's why I'm sure that there is are no trifles in shooting. The problem of video recording through the scope is very familiar to me. I've used Casio exilim for several years to make my videos, but it is not convenient to record video in this way, because you can not shoot as you normally do - the holding of your gun is very different. Another disadvantage is that every time before shooting you've got you have to adjust your camera from the very beginning. 



Then I've decided to make universal mount for my Casio camera (there are several analogs in the market as you may know). This mount solved the problem of every time camera set up, but still I could not shoot with normal gun holding and that was the problem.



At the same time I've made the special mount for my camera, that allowed me to set the camera right above the scope. Сamera gave me the opportunity to have 18x optical zoom and up to 48x digital zoom, so I could have good image of the target for at all reasonable distances. 



Main purpose of video making through the scope for me is to analyse my mistakes during airgun varmint shooting, so when camera was set above the scope I had to make very difficult video editing to match the target and graphics of scope reticle precisely. This process took a lot of time and was really annoying for me... 

 

RusBear’s ScopeCam Development  

I've searched through the market and could not find any affordable devices with characteristics good enough for me. That’s why I had to invent my RusBear's ScopeCam. I've tested it in different conditions and situations: winter (-10c (14F) and snow, autumn and rain, summer heat, Airgun Varmint competitions and hunting. Now I can say for sure, that I'm, as a very exigent shooter, satisfied with my invention and it is 3 times cheaper than GoPro Eagle Eye (that does not include camera itself) and in RusBear’s ScopeCam camera itself is included in the package!

  

RusBear's ScopeCam allows you to shoot as you normally do (usual gun holding) and record very good quality video: 720p 200fps, 1080p 120fps, 2K 60fps and 4K 30 fps.

Here is the latest video made with RusBear's ScopeCam. It's shooting video from Airgun Varmint Competitions and it's made with standard version of RusBear's ScopeCam (not top one).

As you can see, even 720p 120fps is quite enough to see the pellet fly up to 120 meters and it's mark on the target - the picture is clear enough to see all the details and smooth enough in slow motion.

That is truly riveting video, RusBear. For someone not into the air gun sports it must be hard to understand the attraction... much like avid golfers who can sit and watch an entire tournament shot by shot to the displeasure of their families! You are right about the picture clarity with your set-up, it really captures the action through the scope. Well done!

Can you build just a mount that will fit a GoPro camera?

I can but you will not have full screen picture, so the quality will be poor.

I know about that camera. It is not better than cameras that I use in RusBear's ScopeCam (top version). AEE S70+ doesn't support 1080p 120fps or 720p 200fps. 

I just ordered one, I’ll report on it after it arrives and I figure out how to best use it. I went with the Rusbear over the type that Ted and Matt are using that uses a $1000.00 Sony camera even though I think the Sony solution will be better quality videos. The convenience of being able to look through the scope rather than aiming by looking at the camera screen was my reason for going with Rusbear, I didn’t want the hassle of dealing with the sun which you must do in order to see the screen.The Rusbear with everything needed was under $500. The Sony with the eagle eye mount for my setup cost is close to $1300. During the sales process Nickolay was very helpful in answering questions I had about his setup. The camera he uses which seems to be a knockoff of the GoPro that had some good write ups on the internet the camera itself is a $150 item and that’s included in the price. With this setup I will be able to track the pellets on the way to the target and hopefully it will improve my marksmanship. I’ll report as soon as it comes which I was told 2-3 weeks.
