Daystate - Tony Belas RESIGNS

This may be the first Public Announcement over here. I liked Tony a lot. But times are a changing throughout the industry.

Here's a picture of me & Terence, the new Director of Sales (i believe that's his title) I think Daystate is in goods hands.

@Bruce54
correct, all previous resignations are historical; the latest being a few weeks ago of Tony Belas

@daystate395
that airrifle.co.za thread is back from 2008

Anyone knowing guns should have spotted "MAROCCHI" in the Companies House Directors listing of names as It does ring a bell... they are an old established Italian Shotgun manufacturer > https://marocchiguns.com/

About[/QUOTE]https://marocchiguns.com/about/embed/

Edited brief below...

"Marocchi is a company specialized in the production of hunting rifles and shotguns. It was founded in 1922 by Stefano Marocchi, since then Marocchi is managed and headed by the family. Stefano Marocchi started producing parts for high class side by side, later he switched to Holland&Holland side by side and Anson.

1957 represents an effective turning point: Stefano Marocchi won the Oscar for the international invention in Bruxelles, due to the creation of a Co2 semiauto rifle. In the same year, the company exhibits its own Over&Under- the first Over&Under in its history – the Marocchi SM57. The manufacturing of Over & unders strongly encourages the Marocchi’s development in the immediate future several supply contracts are pledged. At the head of the company sits the energy of Michele Pietro Marocchi, Clay shooting European Champion; still today we show his own O&U in our showroom. Marocchi established a company for the production of Co2 rifle and, according to Pietro’s idea a new building assigned to the manufacturing was built in Sarezzo, where is still today.

With the entrance of Piero’s son, Mauro Marocchi, Cd.Europe rises in order to keep together the several companies which were established.

In 2008 there is a significant change when Cd.Europe bought the British Daystate, world leader manufacturer in the production of PCP air rifles. A contract of distribution of Breda goods is stipulated.

As Mauro Marocchi suggested, the factory concentrates itself on the development of semi-auto inertia system and it keeps creating new products for its own costumers. Inside the life of the company Michele Marocchi join the business taking care of customer service."

In the UK, Daystate has fallen from grace due to poor customer service > http://www.airgunforum.co.uk/forums/showthread.php/235072-Had-enough-of-daystate

If it is true that he has gone to Air Arms, maybe he will finally make the necessary changes to accommodate the US market. Even with the introduction of the Galahad, Air Arms has been lagging in "updating" their air rifles. Could actually be a plus for the American consumer where the performance of the Air Arms rifle will match the beauty. I am looking forward to the impact he will make for the company!

Tony Belas telling the owner of Air Arms how to run their business ? are you having a laugh ?

However I agree Daystate & Air Arms have somewhat been sitting on their laurels - as compared and complete opposite to FX coming out year on year (for several past years) with new exciting models to cater to plenty of needs. The BIG reveal is: PRODUCT CHOICE (as the market gets segmented)

IMHO, Daystate & AA are lacking in imagination or barracuda marketing savy...but that's just my opinion...

Consider Edgun, Vulcan, , Airgun Technology, LT Airguns, RAW, (all recent in the last 5 / 10 years) and other 1 man band start ups cranking out new products on their lathes like the amazing Mike Niksch with ThomasAir (I dont own his gun so am trying to be impartial) ... and then try & figure out why BIG companies like Daystate & Air Arms are advancing at a dinosaur pace.... doesnt make sense considering the size of cash they have in their bank balance . Let's not forget KRAL of Turkey, and plenty of Made in China brands doing "Me too" clones and the occasional original product (rarely hehe !)...

Recall how BSA simply ran out of steam and eventually sold & taken over due to poor customer service ? How about Crosman more recently - https://rbj.net/2017/06/06/crosman-gets-new-owner-new-ceo/

Mmm...lots of new whipper snappers are coming into the market (including Lobo of Spain, and even a Ukrainian company called Zbroia) and that's good for some companies to take the cue - Innovate or Bye bye.. Any of you seen what the locals in Indonesia make & produce as they can't afford European or Western air rifle brands ? It would put Daystate and Air Arms to shame eg: https://www.instagram.com/javaproindonesia/

@JG66 you hit the nail on the head for sure. Inovate, change, adapt, improve, or perish. I’m not informed enough to make those judgments about Daystate, AA is another story, totally dragging behind. Frankly that Galahad has very poor reviews on PA, and it’s not cheap.

About those Indonesian guns: is that a modular gun? That breech assembly looks like it could accommodate different configurations. Any more info on these?

...Here is a classic example of a big manufacturer being lazy and not using their brains... and it takes 1 guy with a bit of foresight, entrepreneurship, and skills on his lathe to mill out an Air Arms TX200 alutec stock ...can anyone honestly say Air Arms is on top of development or sitting on their arses as their waist expand throughout the years ?

Bottom line - this could have, would have, should have been an Air Arms product upgrade to have come out yearrrrrrrrrrrs ago...... does anyone like me wonder what the creatives at Air Arms do with their CAD CAM computers all day ? play tic tac toe ???
