Hey Tony and sharkman. I'm in Danbury also. I don't hunt, just targets. Looking forward to some field target matches this summer. Either with the Marauder or the HW97.

I don't hunt either. I'm very new to to all of this and just target shooting now trying to get smaller groups. Field targets sounds fun once I'm sure I can hit the broad side of the barn, hopefully that will be sometime in 2017. I am shooting a springer which seems to be adding tongue frustration.
I am all set up for PCP but still researching which gun to buy . Everything points to a Maruader as a perfect first PCP but now I am hagling over 177vs22

If you're going to be using it mainly for for Field Target, I'd go with a .177. (There's a 20 fpe limit for Field Target) If you want to do some Field Target, but also some longer range (50+ yards) groups and longer range plinking, I'd go with a .22.
Just to throw a wrench into your thinking. If you will be going for best are accuracy as the main reason you're shooting, you're probably going to end up selling the Maruader and getting something more accurate. Might want to just start with something more accurate, perhaps used, and skip that step. Used BSA or Air Arms or FX would be a great choice.

Hey Chas, thanks for the Monkey wrench.LOL Mr. Hector suggested I look at a BSA Buccaneer because of Superior barrel quality but reviews say Gamo did a poor job with the trigger. Is that something I should be concerned with?

Yeah, if you're fighting a tough trigger, it makes it harder to shoot accurate. I'd look for a use BSA R-10.

I'm in Shelton. Just got a .22 gray laminated stocked Daystate Pulsar. Rat hunting is my thing. Plus other invasive species. If any of you guys know of any farms with / or rat problems, I'm available to crack them.
