Chrony...Yea or nay?

Well, I hope it's a good one. The instructions I've been able to find for the unit are a little iffy, so I'm sure I'll need to play quite a bit to figure it out. I do wish it had BT capability, and after ordering, I saw that it is only compatible with PC (I'm a MAC kind of guy). Well, it is what it is.

Sorry, I missed this post before PM'ing you. As I said, the pool has been shot, and it was a great success. Measuring the pellets has become the difficult part of the process, and I can't seem to find anyone who knows how to do it accurately.

"DellaDog"Just got the Ballistic Precision Chronograph from Amazon today ($73)
Tested 40 shots with AirWolf and had 1 error shot out of 40, not bad at all.
Shot without the rods and screens attached on a partly sunny, shaded patio.
It's a keeper. (And so is the Wolf!)

Yep, that Caldwell Ballistic Precision model is a keeper. I have one also, but now I also have a Caldwell G2 chrony.

The G2 goes the Ballistic Precision model one better in that it has a built-in light source for shooting in poor light conditions. When I shot through both of them, lined up one behind the other, my fps readings varied by about 6 fps, I can't recall the faster reading one, but I don't worry about 6 fps. I can set the Ballistic Precision model at the entrance of my garage and it does great, as long as the day is bright and sunny, but when the shadows fall on it, it starts giving me those blasted Error readings, but when I set the G2 in the same place and shoot through it, in poor lighting, it has always read the shot.

I keep the G2 assembled on a tripod and am using it more and more - I may end up putting myCaldwell Ballistic Precision model up for sale - but not yet.
