Chinese tank any good?

I'm pretty sure you'll get some feed back on these here. I think guys that have compressors have bought them. I don't know if they have the proper certs to be filled in the US. I will be curious to see the feedback s well

Checked the ad. If that outfit has such a glowing resume why don't they submit these for DOT certification? At the risk of sounding like a broken record: High-pressure, 4500psi air is NO place to cut corners. It could be made to same standards as U.S.-built tanks but i SERIOUSLY doubt it. Its your money.

Some may well be an excellent investment , for some.

They WILL DOT certify if you meet the minimum order number.
If you look you should be able to find one of those Chinese ( advertized) tanks that IS EU or UK certified. Likely every bit as safe as US standards. You would need to fill it yourself, and then do you dump it after a few years or??????
Now those fill lines, yikes.

I went used from a dealer and got the 45 minute Scott with fill unit and 11 years left ( and current hydro) for exactly $300.00

These tanks are CE rated to the European standard. They’re not DOT, so you can’t get them filled in the USA. However, that doesn’t mean they are not safe, or not made up to modern standards. Does anyone mention that the Omega tanks they sell at AoA are Korean made? Things that make you go hmmm... I personally like the SCBA tanks like Scott, Carlton, Interspiro, and Drager that are made in the USA. 

Omega's are made by Inocom in S.Korea. This outfit makes the SCBA tanks for practically all the fire dept.'s there. They also make fuel cells for both the auto and tech. industry. They are fully DOT certified. BTW, of the firms you listed only Carleton actual makes cylinders. The others make scba breathing equipment. The main U.S. cylinder makers are Luxfer, SCI/Worthington and Cobham/Carleton. Scott uses Luxfer as does Draeger. Not sure which tank Interspiro uses but its one of three.

Didn’t mean to offend. And yes, Luxfer and SCI make most of the tanks for other companies. My point was CE specs are pretty much equivalent to the DOT specs. And that the Chinese tanks are made and tested to similar specs. Just sayin’

I believe there are tanks from the same manufacturer that are DOT certified, but they are move expansive.

If you contact ebay seller, them most likely will provide price for DOT certified tanks.

No prob. We'r all good. Big problem with non-DOT tanks is that no one will hydro test one.

Airhog sells a 88cu/ft Carleton/Cobham(US-made) for 500bux. Great products.

Both of these seem like good deals, and the SCBA fill rig is under $50.

The 45 minute tanks are 65 SCF, the 60 minute tanks are 87 SCF. Interspiro used to make some that were 45+ minutes, and I think they were 75 to 77 SCF.

At the risk of confusion: You'll see tanks advertised at 75, 98-100cu/ft. These are the EXACT same as the 65 & 88cu/ft. When you approach 3000psi when filling the IdealGasLaw is no longer so "ideal". Those so called "98-100cu/ft" tanks can only hold 88cu/ft of air at 4,350psi. JoeB. has always rated his this way as opposed to AoA who started saying that their tanks were 75 &100cu/ft.(65&88cu/ft of air at 4,350psi). In fire dept. terms a 30min is 45cu/ft, a 45min is 65cu/ft and a 60min is 88cu/ft.
