Carbon Fiber Tank Protection

Hi Quad,
You know this is what I love about this forum...one guy comes up with an idea and then a bunch of other guys improve upon it! It is interesting to me that you are getting a Drager carbon fiber tank tomorrow, because I have four of the small 30 minute Drager tanks...as well as one of the Air Venturi 88 cu.ft. CF tanks. I think it is cool that the air gauge on the Drager valves glow in the dark! :)
All the best brother, Chuck

I bought a. 5.5 inch boot from Northeast Divers Supply for my 45 minute SCBA tank (66 ci I’m told)
i heated the plastic boot in simmering water for 5 to 6 minutes. I put some dawn soap in it and was able
to slide into the boot. It is a super snug fit. The plastic netting is too big but put a zip ty around it and it
is holding ok but I like neoprene idea better, also the valve covers for the dive tanks were too large to fit
my SCBA valve.

Hey Orville, good luck with your neoprene tank protector... All you need is some 5mm thick neoprene and some contact cement and you'll be good to go. Glad to hear you're from Texas, I have fond memories of there. Bastrop has the best barbecue, and Dallas has the most beautiful women in the world... :)
all the best, Chuck
