Joe, you can have bad AO front objective scopes too, when you turn the front POI will move on a bad unit. just like when you reparallax a fixed front objective scope, POI will certainly move.
Also i would add that if you place the camera at maximum magnification into the sweetspot/'focus', you will not have to move the camera around at lower mags.
long eye relief scope are nice but i am wondering what is the price to pay for this feature... i dont mean $. probably they suffer awfully from parallax error at short ranges?

You are probably right about the front AO scopes being capable of POI errors as well . Only two I tried were my Weaver T , and Leupold 3-9efr . I have another front AO scope I'll try later this week .

anyone know if this would be safe to use on a springer ? i have a 2001 wood & metal spring diana 34 .177 . i already have the scope (got it new not quite 2 years ago) but don't wanna trash it due to ignorance even though it is covered under bushnell's ironclad warranty . my AR is different from his , mine has the arm on the mag ring . it'll be a clash of classic/tacti-cool but i can live with it IF the scope will be safe on the springer .

Buy the $200 - $250 on clearance (shop smart) regular $499 Japan Made Bushnell TAC front focus Mildot 5-15x40 AO it's much safer on a Springer or buy a Leupold VX Freedom EFR or VX3 EFR probably THE BEST for magnum springers.

thanks Mr. O but i can't justify spending that much on a scope . i'm not a eagle eyed FT'er or long range shooter/hunter . but ... in the range you just mentioned i was looking at the vortex crossfire ll 6-18x44 AO . the CP PLT or 30MM UTG is probably gonna be what i get ...... . they should be fine for my modest needs and ability .
