Big Benjamin Armada Problems

unfortunately at this time i have discovered that my barrel when locked in using there barrel band is pulled to the left at the end point of the gun.. I also have a video of me unboxing the gun and i went back watched it and realized it is a factory issue it came that way.

I contacted crossed and it quickly appeared i was talking to some one who has never handled the gun before.. she told me to adjust the barrel band but as you know it is locked in at 3 points on the tactical looking front. the tactical front is locked in with 4 bolts and is precisely slotted in at its base..he told me don’t worry the what you are looking at is not the barrel its the barrel shroud and even it its angled the free floating barrel could be straight…

the barrel is tightly housed in the shroud so if the shroud moves the barrel moves— am i correct?

he then said to take the shroud off and put it back on – no fix here

he told me that the tactical forehand part is adjustable with the 4 bolts in back.. tensioning one side and loosening the other to get it to move around .
I thought of this and tinkered around with it for a good while before i even called them it didn’t work at all.
he could not tell me the process of adjusting it

his last advise was to shoot it a bunch and it might straighten back out— it did not

now i went from having a new gun with a cooked barrel to a used gun with a crooked barrel.

crosman said i can mail the gun in for warranty work but since i installed a designer i might have voided the warranty

I told Crosman i have videos,
the first showing me unboxing the gun and you can see the barrel is angled to the left.
the second showing me installing the depinger which probably also shows the bent barrel..
both of which have the date and time recorded in there meta data which is tamper prof

my argument stating i had solid proof it came from the factory that way had little effect on them.It is my belief that the barrel band or the tactical stock is the cause of the issue I think the barrel is just fine but when the barrel band which only touches the air reservoir is put on it pulled the tactical front piece to the side…

this wouldn’t really be an issue but i bought the gun just for this extended picatinny rail. i can mount a scope on it and a camera and still have the appraise eye relief to shoulder the gun normally.

he outside is a bit just cosmetic there has been a lot marauders where the should is pulled to 1 side it doesn't mean the barrel is bad or bent
your best is to disassemble make sure the barrels not bent with a roll test and make sure the shroud itself is fasten properly to the barrel block
as long as the barrel is straight your main issue with a pulled shroud is the baffling system and chipping
if it is just the shroud puling you can try to place an oring or spacer to wedge shroud over
as you have already shot the riffle defiantly check your baffles

With the armadas barrel band off it is centered
So I believe it is just being pulled off center.

I have a glass dining room table for a roll test
what should i do?
remove the shroud and roll test it or remove both the shroud and barrel?
If I take the barrel off do I need to remove the air stripper/ shroud spacer at the end or just have that part go over the edge of the table?

I will check the baffles. My first shot was an eventful shot so if it hit the baffles I probably would not have noticed.
See this post to see what I mean:

My question is: if the shroud is being pulled over is the barrel also being pulled over?

when I shot the gun it was dead on accurate

But if the barrel and shroud are being pulled to the left and the scope is centered on the rails the scope will look straight well the pellet is flying off to the left, it would only be accurate on the horizontal plain at one point.

Even if the barrel is straight which I believe it to be, I still have the problem unless the only thing being pulled is the shroud..

How much play is between the shroud and the barrel?

"X27"
"Dartagnan"
"X27"10 yds hole in hole
30 yes if i do my part it groups great
With the housing on or off, it groups the same?
That was with the housing on and the barrel pulled to the left

I have not shot it with the housing off yet, but I will try that
Is the barrel actually pulled to the left or could it be the housing is not centered to your barrel?

A 100yd test is not a good idea especially in this circumstance where you feel something is misaligned. Keep it under 25yds. 10yds to be safer with a reliable backstop.

when i take the barrel band off the problem goes away the barrel and shroud are right in the middle

i don't know it its the barrel band that is causing the issue, i out it seine as it is a small plastic molded part not a lot can go wrong with it

but the tactical forearm could be off there is 2 parts to it

the main one and a smaller secondary one that indexes it to the main stock housing.

ok I believe I have narrowed it down to the small piece that is at the top left of the photo or the main stock in the lower left of the photo.

these two pares seat together and some where there is a problem

when these 2 parts are seated together with the barred action installed.

the barrel block and the small piece are flush on the left side of the gun. and the small piece protrudes on the right side. It might be coincidence but the distance it protrudes is just about the distance that the barrel is off.

ALSO I have used the phrase "Barrel is off" this is not the case the barrel is dead straight with the receiver.

The barrel is never moved as the barrel band (which is shown in the picture directly under the fill port) wraps only around the air cylinder and attaches to the tactical forearm.
what is happening is the barrel band is pulling the Forearm piece to the right making it look like the barrel is off to the left.

There is no adjustment to fix this that I can see or think of.

I will recall crosman tomorrow and explain to them what the problem is now that I fully understand what is happening where as before all I was was a barrel that was off.

I had a long winded post describing part# 2264T-005 aka "front support" and how it mounts on the forearm and secures the main tube.
There actually isn't a barrel band on the armada at all (as you figured out).
The front support (at least mine) is a little different from front/rear. Looks like it is meant to be installed in a cerin orientation.
You can kind of see it in the exp diagram.

ill re-look at the diagram
but front mounted or rear mounted it still off centers the forearm
the first thing i did was flip it and see if it fixed the problem.

agreed the front support looks different on one side the "end pieces" are flush and on the other side one protrudes a bit.
i don't know the correct way i figured the side where there both flush is the side that faces out to make it look better.

now off to find the link of the exploded diagram you sent me in a post
