Salticon,
I agree with you. Atlas quality is excellent, but the function is even better.

Today I was finially able to try out my new Atlas and I am impressed. I was able to consistently shoot sub-MOA 5 shot groups at 50 yards with my RAW .25. I haven't been able to come close to those groups with a modified Bald Eagle rest. The Atlas BT46LW17 w/ADM-170-S cost more than my Bald Eagle and after one outing, I think it is worth it.

In fairness to the Bald Eagle, it may not be the rest, but the bag and/or the shooter. With the Atlas I am able to keep my check weld when cocking the rifle. I used with a rear squeeze bag with the Atlas. That combo may be hard for me to beat.

I started researching bipods when I ordered my Crown, so I had a lot of time to decide between the Evolution and the Atlas.

I rejected the Atlas 5H as it was just too expensive, too much bipod for my needs, and I thought it ugly.

I rejected the BT10 because it rolls on a bench.

So, that left the PSR vs Evopod.

The Modular Evolution has more features, the main for me being the tripod adapter for hunting.
Also, since I also use the carbon fiber Bipodext extender for long range stability off the bench, the Evopod, being carbon fiber as well, seemed the better option.

Thanks for the feedback. Which Atlas mode do you have- the BT-10 or the PSR model? I was talking to one of the shops that carried both and was told the Atlas has less ‘slop’ (loose movement) between the legs and the head when locked into position-the evolution has more. I don’t know what to believe, but ended up cancelled my order for the evolution and opting for the PSR. I really wanted an Atlas CAL version-but there is still no updates on when they will finish the redesign-and that is as of Friday when I called them directly and cancelled my order for the CAL.
