AR-15 Style Air Rifle...

I saw in a AEAC video that Brocock is coming out with a new rifle, the Commander. Actually, I believe it is already out?! Anyhow. Upon seeing the Commander, I had two thoughts pop into my mind.
1. Damn! That is a cool idea!
2. Damn! I had this idea two years ago! Of course I didn't do poop about it, but hey, its the thought that counts, ha ha.

Seriously though, I was thinking about "converting" my Bobcat MK II in to an AR-15 style rifle for almost years now, but never got a chance to do it (obviously or you would have heard about it). That said. I am wondering if anyone has ever tried something like this? Taking the stock of an AR-15 and putting any kind of air rifle in to it?!

Thanks,

Kmd

The lower of the AR is serialized and as far as the law goes, the lower serialized lower is a fire arm without any other parts it is still a firearm regardless of the upper. you could buy a 80% lower kit and drill two holes and have an undocumented "firearm" all the other parts without the lower reciver is just a pile of parts,

There are a few after market kits to make your Mrod more AR like, Tom Gaylord put one together,... I'm sure you could find something out there on the inner webs that would work. There is a thread on here, dude machined a trigger guard for his mrod to accept an ar pistol grip, then added an AR stock to it, Maybe ask him for advice on how to convert yours

I don't know about the current batch of .177 PCP uppers from Crosman, but they were available several years ago as well. Perhaps it's a production run, then sell until they are gone. Price was over $600 for the upper, and most AR-15 types I know would rather buy ammunition instead. That's a lot of bullets for $600, and you still had to have your own lower! that makes for an expensive pellet gun!

The point was to allow the AR-15 shooter to practice with their own trigger group and such, while allowing practice with pellets instead of more expensive .223 or whatever caliber it's chambered in. Good idea, but needs to be a lot less expensive to be really saleable. Maybe a product looking for a market?

The Commander isn’t anything new. Its basically a WAR Flex/Warp copycat. WAR’s guns have been interchangeable with AR and Marauder parts from the get-go.

My WAR Flex has a standard AR-15 butt stock with a Remington Model 700 Timney trigger and a Chinese clone of the Law Tactical folding stock adapter. The gun’s Cobra valve and external regulator is interchangable with a standard Benjamin Marauder so if I ever had to I could scavenge parts from a Marauder in an emergency. Performance would be less with a Marauder valve but the gun would be functional.

I did not know that...

Funny enough, I just googled "WAR Flex" to see what they look like and I ended up here... : )

Thanks for the input.

Thanks for the input everyone!

I guess this was another "Man, someone should do this or that" moment, only so you can realize that "someone already did this or that!" LOL.

That said. The Brocock Commander and the FX Dreamline look lust like what I was looking for. Since I already have a Bobcat Mk2, I will probably go with the Dreamline. : )

Thanks again,
