Always check your screws!

In less than 3 days I probably sent 3000 rounds down range practicing for EBR. I plan on using my FX Crown for Extreme & AFT (American Field Target).

Today was AFT & I was feeling pretty confident going into it. I nailed all 4 targets twice in the first lane & then I completely flopped & couldn't hit anything in lanes 2-5. I double checked the calculations in Strelok, confirmed my turret settings for each distance, checked my air pressure, checked my reg pressure, & still nothing.

After the competition I shot it over the chrony & found it was shooting less than 500 fps. I looked at the power & the darn thing was on minimum. Turns out I worked the Crown so hard the last few days that the screw for the power wheel worked it's way out and the hammer was barely hitting.

I tightened it back up, turned the wheel back to 4, confirmed the correct velocity & started stacking pellets @ 75 yards. $%*!

It was a simple solution that I should've been able to isolate & fix. But the excitement, the pressure, & the clock got the best of me on AFT.

Moral of the story... check the screws & your settings before an important adventure (or every couple thousand rounds).
