Thanks. I just made 3 balls. I used ping pong balls drilled out on one side just big enough to fit a small funnel. Filled it with powder. Then i cut 3 small circles off of one unused ping pong ball to make a lid for each ball and glued them on. Sealed tight. Now I have to get up there. Hopefully Thursday. The real reason is to visit colleges for my son, but this is obviously more important.

Well, here's my entry.
Got every 50yards from 50 to 250 before I realized that 50 and 100 don't count. 
Used the FX Crown for 150+. That 250 yard shot took me 2 shooting sessions to hit. I think that's the first time I've ever shot at that range.

HIT!
Winds were really playing games with me. Any slight breeze would toss that pellet waaaay off.

I think I may have been about as relieved as I was excited when I hit the 250. I was tethered and shooting 25.4's for that one.
I forgot to count my attempts when I moved from sighters to actually going for the ball. If I remember correctly.
50 = 1
100 = 1
150 = 1
200 = 1
250 = 4
But, that's only after many, many sighters. I have no doubt that there was a blending of skill and luck involved with that 250. What I really enjoyed was how you can hear the pellet cutting through the air on its way to the target. sssSSSHHH-PLINK!

"Mousefart"Wound up with unexpected time off so I called AD two days ago during business hours to place an order for some golf balls, no answer. Left a message. It's been two days, no return call. Not impressed.

great shooting.i got 4 dozen golf balls glued them all together put them out at 150yards and got lost getting back to truck.never ever found them lousy golf balls.that ended my trying for golf balls.I'll stick to barn doors,bigger the better.there are a lot of excellent shooters out there.i enjoy watching all of you guys and gals,keep them videos coming.

Hey there AGN members! So after some time away (in-laws in town) I was back at it this week. I got a lot of flack from some of you about my 150 yard HOLE-IN-ONE shot being with a real golf ball since the real AGD ball broke before I could take a shot at it, soooooo...... I ordered 4 more and I have been busy. Here is my 175 Yard and 200 Yard submissions. Sucks I forgot my spotting scope that day so the best I could do is zoom into that part of the video in post-production editing and you can see the white powder fly. So here they are:

Not the hole-in-one like my 150 yard attempt, but on my 82nd shot I nailed it!

Another HOLE-IN-ONE BABY! .357 Big Bore AirForce Texan with 128 Gr. Aeromagnum rounds. Out of the box, the .357 Texan really isn't all that accurate. I have been tinkering with different pellet weights and shapes. It really likes Neilson Specialty .357 Ammo 180 gr. cast bullets at 50 yards and will be my hunting round for this year's deer season (.35 cal air rifle and up is now legal in Michigan - woohoo!). What helped the most to tighten up groups was this x-ring barrel harmomic tuner to replace the factory end cap and then I have a 1.5 inch plastic ABS homemade shroud with a rubber plug to also dampen the harmonics at the muzzle.

About this shot: On my first shot I saw the powder fly, but the target was a bit obstructed by the ferns between me and the ball. I could just barely see the top of the ball through my scope and wasn't sure till my fourth shot when the wind blew the ferns a little to the side and revealed the ball was gone off the tee! I wish I had my second camera recording zoomed in at the target, but with the zoomed in cut away shot you can see the powderized ball with that beautiful white mist we all seek!

Hmmmm..... Might be time to pull out the AirForce Texan .357 with FX No Limits rings! She has been a bit of a temperamental B%*$&TCH though since I got her from AGN. Tried ammo from 81 gr. to 180 gr. and about 4 different sizes in between. Pellets - hollowpoint - spires - I couldn't get ANYTHING to group better than 2 to 2.5 inches at 50 yards. So I started doing some homework and watched what David Williams, founder of Hunters Supply, was cooking up with their Texan tune services. If you look REALLY closely at everything he is doing with his tuning services - I am seeing him tinker a lot with barrel harmonic tuners (barrel donuts) in the videos posted and in the photos on his website. Check out his World Record .308 Texan photo on his homepage. Do you see that rubber thing about halfway down his barrel.

Well come to find out - that rubber thing is the secret sauce. Nick from Neilson Specialty Ammo also dropped a hint that the Texan has REALLY BAD harmonics. Well - there is somewhat of a fix for that and it is that ugly rubber donut. So I took it a step further - I added one of those barrel tuners replacing the factory cap (actually called a x-ring de-resonator from Limbsaver) and also added a homemade shroud to give the barrel some rigidity all the way to the muzzle and added a second tuner rubber end cap at the muzzle.

AGN Members - You can blame Bizill for this shot - he asked for it... I just nailed a golf ball at 350 yards today! My secret sauce - FX No Limits Rings and AeroMagnum 128s (they are awesome)! So here you go:

ETA: What scope? Also, you did ALL this in 2 short weeks??? Bought a gun, waited on shipping. Did your research on how to get the gun shooting well and ordered up the bullets from aero all on your own? If so you're amazing.

Ha! Thanks Bizill! I am using a cheap SNIPER brand (but surprisingly decent - except for the huge crosshairs) 6-24x50 scope with FX No Limits adjustable rings (LOVE THESE Rings).

So how did I pull this all together in a short amount of time. Pure obsession and a crazy amount of networking within the airgun community. It is the spirit of shared knowledge that made this 350 yards shot possible. I just absorbed as much info from all the subject matter experts that I could - lined up the cross hairs and squeezed the trigger. As far as learning about the .357 Texan - I have been chatting with Jimmy (the guy who won the AGD Texan Give Away) and learned a lot from him. Through Jimmy I met Nick Neilson of Neilson Specialty Ammo who has been on a war path about the harmonics and twist rate concerns he has about the Airforce Texan series. Learned A TON from his posts on other forums and hypothesized what tweaks I needed to make even before the rifle arrived. From that info I was able to reverse engineered (at least some) of what the folks over at Hunters Supply are doing in their tuning services to turn the Texan to a real long range rifle. It was from Hunters Supply photo and video research that I realized that this barrel was going to need some major harmonics and rigidity help (thus the de-resonator donut and homemade ABS plastic shroud). Here are the photos of what's under my DIY barrel shroud. This thing made a HUGE difference!

Then finally the introduction to Al Clark, the GENIUS behind Aeromagnum Ammo and the 128 gr. Devastator Hollow Point, is what really made this all possible. If you haven't seen his rounds in person - words can't describe.... Order a box and you will see what I mean. Just for giggles - I am going for 400 Yards before the end of the challenge. Just need to find a stretch of land as I am out of safe yardage where I have been shooting. So yes - it was a busy 2 weeks to make this shot. But it has been a fun learning process!

Ok guys, 200 yards was easy, 250 kicked my butt, the rain was putting my poi all over the place, it stopped raining and i nailed in 5 shots.
video isnt pretty like the 200 yards video, we was soaked, equipment was soaked, humidity 100%...
but we got it, had my buddy Chris down range spotting shoots over the phone... 300 is doable but im just out of time.
