Why is it that virtually every compressor is coupled with an air dryer, to remove moisture, but hand pumps are not. Is it that the hand pumps don't create moisture?

Quite the opposite, handpumps create tons of moisture that's why I added a desiccant filter to my Benji hand pump back when I was using it before I bought my Shoebox Max.

So...I'm about to get my Hill 4 pump with my AA510S this week. Is there anything I need to add to it for a moisture filter???? If so, what is it?

Call them and ask for a air filter for your pump or the place you bought yours. They will help you out. I am sure the guys on here can tell you where to buy air filter

Thanks, Airborne (btw, thank you for your service. I was a SeaBee many years ago). They told me the order is shipped and should arrive this Friday. I am 'guessing' that the pump comes with a filter. If not, I'll order it from PA, and grouse about why it wasn't included WITH the pump.

Just my .02 on hand pumps with dryers: Purchased a Hill Mk3 in 2013 when I got a PRod. It came with a desicant filter and happy to report it works. I can only guess how many times the P rod was inflated. The P rod started leaking a few weeks ago so he got a rebuild today with new orings and springs....There was no evidence of moisture or corrosion any where. We definitely have humid weather in middle Tennessee. Hope that means the little dryers work.

Ok ? These new air rifles are using 3200 psi orup to 4500 psi.my bottles are rated for 3000. I have two. My dive shop will fill them to about 3200.the law here wont allow them to fill any higher. My new urban will fill to 3200.i am good for about 6 fills to max psi. My shot is 25 . When I am down to 3000 my shot count drops down to 18.can I buy a hill 4500 pump and add the extra psi and get my shot count back?

yes you can add a hill pump to add the xtra air and the pump you will need is the hill pump mk4 as there iss no such thing a a hill 4500 pump
