AEAC's video review of the new Benjamin Trail NP2 SBD .22

"kkarmical"Good job Steve! Only thing I don't like is the shape of the SBD, but it would probably grow on me though.

Thanks. Yeah it's not going to be for everyone but my guess is anyone 45yrs old and down will dig it. In hand it reminded me of my youth... battleship troopers, predator, star trek, battlestar galactica, and laser tag, lol. I liked it but can see how it could be a turn off to.

"JoeWayneRhea"Steve, Great honest down to earth review . Proves you can have sponsors and still have integrity. All your video reviews give any potential buyer the honest facts for an informed purchase . Can't ask for more than that .

Thanks Joe. Yeah having sponsors behind the channel means 2 things. I'll always have a steady supply of product to review for you guys, and that I don't have to work for free. None of them try to tell me what to say, ever. They're all great. Thanks for the nice note. Steve

The NP2 .22 was the first Benjamin I owned and it was actually the reason I had joined up with AGN a couple of years back. It is a hard gun to learn to shoot
First of all it is not a bench rest gun I could never get any decent groups from it and even the zero changed from bench to off hand. The only way to get any decent shooting from that gun was off hand and a good artillery hold another thing I did was put a good thick shotgun recoil pad on it and that helped a lot.
When I got my first PCP it was pushed off into my outdoor shop
to grab in the case of a possum or rat that kept messing around my shop and sit in a back corner for over six months forgotten and neglected. On a whim about a month ago I pulled it out to oil it and run a few shots through it.
what surprised me was that all of a sudden my groups was tight and it shot actually fairly well but that it felt like it was shooting with less power or kick than what it had done before
Not long ago I got my first Chrony and out of curiosity I ran it through to see what it was shooting. I am not sure if perhaps the piston had leaked down somewhat or what the reason was but discovered that it was shooting at about 600 FPS.
Its not a hole in hole gun but does shoot good groups,
One of the things I did realize after getting a PCP is how much the trail taught me in consistent hold and shooting methods it also I believe greatly increased my skill in offhand shooting.
While I will admit that there was more than a few days that I turned the air around me blue with some very choice words about it I will have to say that it did help me get into this hobby and improved my shooting skill.
That being said, If you can afford this gun then another few weeks saving up and you can get a PCP package with a pump and get a much easier shooting platform
