AEAC's video review of the Gamo Urban .22

Hey Steve,

As usual a comprehensive, interesting and unbiased review. My only suggestion is to bring back the decibel reader. Not sure who you were addressing when you said it confuses us. The dual microphone setup was cool but I like to know the decibel level from each gun so ideally you could have both the dual mic and decibel readings. I think the confusion you are referring to probably stems from the Puncher Breaker review where your decibel meter appeared broken or placed incorrectly. (I think it was the PB review anyway). Aside from that awesome review this hobby is better having you involved.

Thanks for the suggestion buddy. Some had been challenging the proper functioning of my meter suggesting that it was broken as they were comparing it to other reviewers who are testing indoors and placing the meter right next to the gun. It's an enigma to me as I'm clearly outdoors with the meter 20' down range yet many still perceived my meter as being broken. There are plenty of references both here on AGN and in the comments on my channel.

I personally loved the meter but if it's confusing the viewers I have to question its merit. Perhaps it'll come back one day.

"Birdo"Looks good. I like the tuning for high shot at the expense of power. 20 fpe would be great for a lot of recreational shooters, this would help with noise too
I was very pleased with this too. There's a really nice balance of hand pump friendliness, tune, and power going on here that Gamo & BSA deserve some recognition for. I wish more manufacturers were brave enough to adopt this practice.

Hand pump + 195 bar + 21 fpe and 25-plus good shots is a nice model.

Fair enough, personally, I do watch lots of reviews but when it comes to referencing statistics I use yours so even if there was some deviation in decibel readings I would know that say the PB was 82 and the Urban was 91 (just made up examples), and that way remember which of the guns is louder. Keep it up Steve I have tremendous respect for you and the fact that you ditched the corporate life to do what you love and it shows.

Good point about the frame of reference, thanks. That hadn't occurred to me. Maybe I can come up with some sort of standardization and stick with it for my subs. Will give that some thought.

Leaving the race in search of a better way wasn't to scary. If this opportunity goes away, it's still there for me. Let's just hope I can stay, lol.

Appreciate the note.

I realize that many in the USA are "City Bound" so lower power is desirable but for me with nothing but miles and miles of miles and miles I want 40 ft/lb minimum in any gun and preferably more (MUCH more). Daystate is starting to answer the call for the American market with the HP models ..... I hope others across the pond follow suite one of these days. ;)

Thurmond, I'm a city folk, and have a private backyard, and a basement. I like the lower power for my particular situation. about 20 years ago, I had a country place and would have like more power, but it was all springers at the time. I now have a really nice 177 pcp that makes for safer shooting, but I think this Urban would be good for general use too. I'll post pics when I can, have a Nikon EFR scope that needs a rifle so Urban it is.
