Adjusting the trigger on the FX Impact

Yeah, Vu; I have watched that video several times before posting my inquiry. It has been of no practical help to me in adjusting my trigger. But thanks just the same :). My FX Impact trigger was factory-set @ two pounds, 5.9 oz, which is way too heavy for me! I want it to be one pound, zero oz. I've been monkeying with the adjustment for over an hour now, and the lowest I've managed to get it is one pound, 14.3. oz. The A (1st stage) trigger screw is turned-in 5/8 of a rotation, and the B (2nd stage)trigger screw is turned-in 1/2 of a rotation. (I am using the Lyman Electronic Digital Trigger Pull Gauge.) I'm leaving it as is for now, because I'm really not clear on the interactive dynamics of the two stages' adjustments.

"Dirte"The only way the trigger will return from first stage on it's own, is have a tremendously heavy first stage pull. The Impact has the worst pull out of all my guns from the factory.
Wow, thats disappointing, I thought there must be something wrong with my trigger!

So worst trigger from the factory but was you able to adjust it to your liking minus first stage return?

thanks

"marcella69"@6:28: Four or five ounces?! The FX is a hunting rifle, not a match gun!
If the FX is a hunting rifle you should be able to leave it cocked when in the field. The video suggest uncocking if the shot is not taken after the first stage is taken out. It was mentioned that you could reset the first stage by hand and I guess this would make it safe to leave cocked?
Is there a risk of AD if the gun is on safe but the first stage pull is taken up? If not a single stage trigger is fine for field work as long as the pull weight is not set to light.

I have not tested for it but I don't think the Impact has any anti-double feed system does it? So if you uncock it do you have to leave the magazine out of the gun until its been fired? This would also be undesirable, especially in a hunting rifle.

So whats the best way to deal with the Impact trigger?

thanks
