A sparrow and moustached nutter bit the dust yesterday

I'm sick with a cold my daughter gave me, so I slept in the morning and took a half sick day from work. Naturally, I set up my computer where I could work and also stand guard over my feeders. The sparrows had been flitting in and out. I thought for a moment that they were smarter than I thought and had been detecting me. But I think they're just learning that when they feed in MY lawn, one fewer of them returns sometimes.

So this last time, I had the camera going on the songbirds, feeling that a HOSP would be along shortly. They did not disappoint. Flew right and and took a brain/heart shot; the holy grail of game shots.

Seconds later, this nutter sauntered in, scaring off all the birds. I released the Baracuda Hunter from the Compatto, and it entered just by his right eye at the top of the head, went through the brain, out the back of the head behind his left ear, then into his shoulder, through, and stopped just under the skin behind the left shoulder. Knocked him down properly.

Don't take my word though, see for yourself. ;D

Do you like the moustache on the nutter? (no, I didn't edit it in there!)
