A quick look at the Evanix BA .35 Carbine

I just put up a video on some early experience with this cool little carbine. Mostly plinking and informal paper punching shooting off sticks. I did shoot a pig with this gun and dumped him, but it was so dark you can barely see it (at end of video). Will get this rifle out for a more film-able hunt later......

Not really sure yet who will distribute this gun, Pyramyd typically sells these Korean guns but will not carry this one. I received a note from Evanix's chief saying they were finalizing a distribution agreement for this gun and would let me know when/where available......... and I'll pass that on when I get it.

Jim, I'm been eyeing the Standard Rex model to be my first PCP but afraid it might be a bit loud for my application, then I saw this one. It would be for coyote hunts down here in the wooded south 75yds would be an extended range shot for 90% of the shots down here, most would be 20-50yds. I had an itchy keyboard finger today and almost pulled the trigger on a air force escape ss in .25 for the job. I plan to fill with a scuba tanks that I own and buy a hand pump to top off. I think the 25 might be a bit lite in FPE unless shooting a slug and I don't really know what kind of accuracy/speed to expect with slugs in the AF gun. I watched your video of the spring buck and was amazed at the penetration you got with a pellet out the rain storm our deer are that size 70-150lbs normal. I think a 30 cal would be perfect for the yotes but I like the short light weight of the Air force and Rex ba and neither come in a 30. Would the 25 Air force be the way to go or should I wait and get the BA in 357? I'll be shooting for lungs if the shot presents itself on a coyote. Is the standard Rex a good bit louder than the BA model or are they close? It's so much easier figuring what caliber with a powder burner, but this air gun stuff has me spinning, with pellets Vs slugs, If I go with 357 will defiantly be shooting pellets. The Benjamin bull dog just doesn't do anything for me in the looks department.

I would take my time with this decision; I like the Rex BA because it's so compact and lightweight, and I have a use for a gun specifically to shoot pellets at closer range, where I intend to stick with headshots. The AirForce guns are more tunable if you want to have it modified, and with the adjustable power you can shoot pellets or bullets. The AirForce guns have also been around for a long time, so you have a known entity with a lot of local experience. I suggest you look at both guns very carefully, and keep your (real) intended use clearly in mind ..... Just my 2 cents...

Yes, your comment is better than I could ever hope for. I actually could not convince myself to order the regular rex. Limited shots per fill are not good for learning. I ended up ordering the Condor in 25, to learn all this PCP stuff. Then when it gets time to step up to larger caliber maybe the BA will be out or airforce will have a 357 condor/escape model and the hog population will be back up and the coyotes down. Thank You.
