A custom bullet mold for Huben K1

"Gregor"airgunmonkey:
I have discussed already about this with MP Mold but I do not know yet if we will decide to make them...

xinjin.
Is this the Huben pellet? I have seen a picture of them at IWA. Sure hopes that they preform well...

thanks for the reply Gregor, I still think that would be a good idea, even though Huben is working on their own, a variety is always good to have as we know, JSB's H&N's and so on. With your knowledge and passion, and judging from your reviews on different subjects and air rifles, would be a good and trustful thing.
I know that you want to find the best for this gun, that's why I follow all the reviews and comments on it.
Just my 2c.

Hi,

I think you should aim to these things:

1. maximum SD, Sectional Density. This is what killer-bullets are all about.

2. Cylindrical shape. While this sounds weird, from what I have read/looked at experiments, the shape does not have a massive effect to the BC in mach 1 speeds. This cylindrical shape is also the only way to keep SD high while satisfying the twist rate. (The BC argument stands pretty good unless we are talking about doing a skirt)

3. Barrel seal and keeping the bullet centered in the barrel (while low friction still occurs).
There should maybe be belts that stand out JUST barely.

4. Make a succesful target round first and then start drawing it to a hunting pellet. I think HP is not a big problem since not much of SD is lost there (not a gain, certainly) but I think up to a some degree just plain bullet should do good damage to a long range. After all you never know for sure if any expansion will even occur! Against prey, 6.35mm hole should be enough for starters :)
