Took my son on his second squirrel hunt today. My daughter was very upset she didn't get to go last time, so she went along with us as did my wife. Family squirrel hunt!! I had my trusty Prod and Gage had his RWS 70. We spotted a squirrel that was on the side of a big oak tree about 45 yards from us. We were on a lane that is bordered by a cornfield on one side and a very thick fence row that is filled with hardwood trees on the other. The squirrel had clearly spotted us and probably heard the kids long before we got near him. They aren't getting the whole keeping quiet thing yet? LOL. My son told me to shoot as the squirrel was way too far for him. I put a square head shot on him and Gage "finished him off"!! He was very excited but told me "Dad, I would like to shoot the next squirrel all by myself. Thanks for helping me, but I want to do it by myself next time". I got a very big smile out of that as did my wife.
