Yellow painted slugs for some singleton squirrel hunting.

I painted the backs of some slugs with a yellow oil based paint pen and shot them at 100 yards tonight. They are easier to see that grey. With the social distancing thing going on I think I'll take a solo trip ground squirrel hunting and make a slo-mo video if it turns out well. Here's my trial run tonight.

Nice shooting. What kind of disc were you shooting? Do they hold up well to being hit by the slugs at 100 yards? I’m always looking at various target options that I can make myself.

Steelplinkers.com custom made me a whole bunch of round steels exactly like that except I had them made in sets of 10 for bigger, or 15 for the smaller ones. .6", 1", 1.25", 1.5", 2" and 2.5". I've had a ton of fun with them and they work great for aperture iron sights since they are round.

The targets are just 3/8" mild steel plates and have withstood many shotgun and pistol hits while 3-gun training.
