wood pigeon shooting

Took a wood pigeon yesterday. UK legal 12ft lb Air Arms S410 TDR in .22. 
Pigeon was stripping fresh buds from the trees. Took him at 40 yds through the head. Nice clean shot
pictured as it fell

40 yards shot with a sub 12 ft-lb gun is a great shot. I have a pmod that was shooting around 11.5 ft-lbs and I have a real good idea a 40 yard shot was out of my range to hunt with

I don't find 40 yds a difficult shot really and I don't claim to be a brilliant shot
A quality rifle and a pellet sized right in your chosen calibre will out shoot most people's ability
my guns are zero for 30 yds in .22 and 35 yds in .177.... A little holdover and 40 yds is a confident range
if you have to shoot sub 12, you get to learn trajectory very quickly ... Haha
i wish I could go higher but not wanting the hassle of going for a uk firearms licence

shot another this afternoon, stripping the fresh buds on the wild cherry
this time with the .177 ultimate Sporter, fortunate to have this one .. A real keeper I think
