Weihrauch’s Wood

I got several Weihrauch’s over the last month. The last one I received was a 22 Rim Fire. A HW66 JM .22lr. I know this is not allowed but my question is 

 

 
‘Do any of you have a Weihrauch springer with a factory stock that looks like this? 

 
None of mine are even in the same ball park. Maybe I never noticed, Air Arms no problem.
Any reason for this?

No, none of my stocks look anything like that. I thought my 35E stock was gorgeous but that is next level. Congrats man!

That has to be one of the most beautiful pieces of wood I've ever seen. I would never part with that if I were you.........probably would never happen again.

Dang son. I didn't know HW made powder burners. The stock looks significantly better than the HW springers I've shot. Very nice.

That is a nice stock Crowski. Out of all my HW’s / Beemans rifles none look as nice as that. On that note I have noticed that the Beeman Guns do have nicer stocks than the HW rifles though. Looks like you hit the stock lottery with that one.

No, Weihruach uses beech wood for all their springer rifles besides the HW35E.

Otherwise noting close; their PCP's can have nice Walnut - but not close to what you received.

That looks like French Walnut. My personal favorite of the Walnuts. That’s an awesome piece of blued steel and Walnut. I bought a HW60 match from Beeman in the 80’s It had a beautiful Turkish Walnut stock too. But nothing like that French Walnut stock you just got. That’s an Heirloom. Congratulations!!

Some of the Turkish Walnut looks like yours also. Has the dark veining. I really like that. This looks like yours. Picture borrowed from “Gun & Ammo”

After some investigation I do believe your wood is from the Circassian Mountains in Northern Turkey. The veiny nature tells the story. It’s all about the mineral intake of the tree. Plus we already know Weihrauch uses Turkish Walnut as in the HW35e. It’s a special piece for sure.

HW used walnut on springers other than the 35 but never a lot. There are 54's, 55's and I think most if not all Tyrolean models used to be walnut.

I didn’t think so. I was wondering if Weihrauch considered us Springer guys second rate. Didn’t know they made PCP’s with upgraded stocks, so third rated. Personally I’d love to have some sweet walnut on my Springers. Don’t get me wrong, Weihrauch’s engineering is outstanding and the laminates do fill the void a bit. But give me a chance at a sweet piece of wood any day. Crow

mabpi got that resolved. He’s sending me a .22 barrel and a smoking deal on a Vortek kit.

Bear-of-Grayling thanks can’t say, it’s nice though.—- Wow very close, been to Turkey 6-7 times. Awesome place to visit. I believe all wood is protected there. That would be cool if your right, thanks again.

DualMagMike it just seems to me that us springer guys are not worthy by Weihrauch to get upgraded wood. Nice collection.

Looks like someone released the trigger sear before the barrel was locked up.

Exactly! I had adjusted the trigger OUT OF THE GUN while exploring a failure-to-cock problem and forgot it. Reassembled the HW35E, tried to cock it and succeeded, was readjusting my hold on it and wham. The epoxy needs to be cleaned up a bit, but the gun will work fine till I can get a custom stock made. Mr. Corcoran doesn't seem interested in helping a returning customer, so I guess I'll order from CSLtd.
