Vulcan pellet probe oring

i just got a new vulcan. The first couple times while shooting it somehow I fired it without the action all the way closed. The pellet oring came off. I can't get it back in. Then I lost it. I have lots of spare orings in a bulk kit. The size I have appeared to be the correct size, I just can't get it to seat in the groove. It keeps pushing to far inside the barrel.

any tips?

Lots of shooters, including me use a wooden dowel rod slid down the muzzle to the edge of the O-ring groove. You can use the dowel rod to keep the O-ring from going past the groove. Just be patient and it'll drop into the groove when you least expect it to.
