Update: 3000psi tank where and how

Okay I changed this post after some research...

FYI: my hand pump broke (#3) and I'm sick of it.

(Using to fill Maximus from 1200psi to 3000psi)

I do not want a 4500psi tank due to fill stations in my area and their restrictions. I'm not jumping through hoops to get air in a tank so...

I want to get a 3000psi tank and fill station adaptor as I plan to later next year buy a compressor, but for now I need something.

Any help on where to buy the tank (please be sure they are approved or whatever they need to be to actually use), and what adaptor hose thing I'll need.. yeah I'm that clueless on these lol

Thanks in advance AGN community!

@bubblerboy64 I agree! I spent 200$ on a Benjamin pump that failed after a year and have went through 2 cheap 50$ pumps in 2 years, by then I could of bought a dang scuba tank. My research has led me to find that 3000psi tank will definitely be all I need, I just don't know what exactly I need so that I don't get a tank that I can't get filled. I've heard I can buy them from local dive shops direct and then just slap on a fill adaptor but again I have no clue so we will see what AGN tells me and thanks for the input!

Something to consider here... A 3000 psi tank will fill your Maximus to 3000 psi exactly one time. Every fill after that will be a partial. The cost jump from those self contained, very reliable springer or gas ram airguns goes ballistic when it comes to PCP's. To be able to get bunch of fills you would need a 4500 psi tank. Although I do not have one, a lot of shooters have good luck with one of the less expensive Chinese compressors. You could just fill your gun with one of those instead of using a hand pump and skip the tank. Good Luck.

You might also consider getting a used 4,500 psi carbon fiber fireman tank which can be found for $60-120 dollars depending on the "use by date" and supplementing it with a small pump like the Yong Heng ($200.) As leadfoot said, that will give you many full pressure fills instead of just one. It will also be a smaller lighter package and give you independence and save you time running around to fill shops.

Amazon Yong Hong and eBay fireman self contained breathing bottle and eBay for fill adaptor all for under $500.00

As stated above I only fill to 2000psi not 3000psi. I am aware of how filling works I just didn't know the needed materials and certifications and such on these things. Also I cannot get 4500psi tanks filled in my area, but i appreciate the input guys. I've owned several rifles which required 3000psi and more but after a few years and several PCPs later, I like simple and I have 2 that do all I want.

Most guns are 3000 fill. We know you can't get them fill to 4500 psi that's why the guys are suggesting you get a cheap $200-250 yong Heng compressor to fill yourself. It comes with everything you needed to fill you gun or tank. If you can't afford that idk what to say. It pays itself in a year. A 3000 psi are made of heavy aluminum. While 4500psi tank are carbon fiber. Which is stronger and lighter. 4500 psi tank is the way to go. You don't even need to fill it to 4500 psi duh. If 3000 psi is your desire. You can still fill it just to 3000 psi. If you don't want to take these guys suggestions on a cheap yong heng compressor plus a used carbon fiber tank, idk why you even bother to ask. Just saying. You could of easily just use eBay or goggle up a aluminum 3000 psi tank.

@airmanator First off don't get smart over a forum just because you think you have required information for me. I reiterated to review above because guys like to project opinion instead of facts. I'm well aware I can fill a tank to 3000psi but if I would literally never use 4500psi then why waste the extra cash$ DUH! If you can't muscle up an aluminum tank bc it's too heavy for ya then I not only feel bad but "idk what to tell ya." Next time you want to have an attitude over the internet first make sure you pick the right guy and the right rebuddle buddy. Thanks for your elobarote useless response.

Hello Point1Seven

Here are links to Tank Capacity & Tank Fill calculators that will allow you to determine how many fills you will get from any given tank/gun combination.

This is not intended to call into question any advice offered by others; but to provide some tools that help work out a solution

Hope this helps
