SWFA abroad/exportation

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a new scope and I was focused on the falcon menace 5.5-25x50 B20 ret FFP.
BUT (thanks Ted for fu***** with my minds ^^) Ted introduced swfa scopes in another subject. I had a look on their websites and saw this lovely 3-15x42 FFP swfa ss... I read only good reviews about it.
Now, which one should I choose?
If the swfa is the most desirable one, how can I import it to France ?!!!
Thanks for your answers mates =)

Yes these SWFA scopes (specifically the model you mention) seem to be the first scopes I've seen to date that are designed for doping rather than (as is the case for just about every other make of scopes made for air rifles) only for holding off, that are compatible with the needs of the air rifle shooter. The first focal plane MIL reticle with MIL turrets, and the ability to focus from infinity down to 6m (my understanding is that the Falcon Menace only focuses down to 100m - not much use to the air gunner) makes them a true tactical scope. However even with sporting scopes where turrets are covered by caps and the hold-off style of shooting rules, a first focal plane scope is still a big plus - that is assuming you don't want to mess around with the magnification or do any arithmetic.

With regards to getting your hands on a Super Sniper scope outside of Uncle Sam, things don't look good. But you may want to start by pointing your favourite browser at:

Although RC-NL's tip looks promising:)

"...my understanding is that the Falcon Menace only focuses down to 100m..."

Incorrect. I don't think the Menace brand exists anymore.
I've just picked up a Falcon 4-14 and at 14x it focusses down to 8 metres.

In respect of buying from abroad in general. My advice would be to shy away from such a practise with a scope because there is no support.

A PCP scope doesn't have to be the most rugged scope in the World.

That's interesting. Strange that they're not mentioning this on their website. After all 8m is not bad and it's uncharacteristic for companies to be shy or modest about such things.

With regards to support when buying abroad, yes I guess there does seem to be that risk. Perhaps we could start a thread on airgunexporter in the reseller feedback forum...

Cookie is correct in saying all recent Falcon scopes will focus down to at least 9 metres / approx 30'.

Falcon no longer mark the side focus turret with set ranges, recognizing that these will tend to differ from one unit to another & allowing the owner to affix their own range tape as they deem fit (& maybe to suit the owners eyesight).
