Sorry you lost your pup...In the last 8 years I have killed 43 coyotes just outside of our town. The State had placed them into the strip pits to keep the varmints down and now we have an infestation of coyotes that come into town during the winter months feeding on the little dogs. Neighbor lost her miniature poodle to a couple of them that chased the dog into her garage before tearing it apart. The neighbor did not like the fact that I was a hunter, but since this incident I have received cookies and sweet rolls from her on several occasions when I hit town with the coyotes in my truck. A local furrier will take the carcasses if they are cleanly shot and skin them out for the fur. They pay for the better hides that used to keep me in ammo. Today the State no longer pays a bounty as they used to but coyotes are still high on my list and I go to great lengths to see them dropped.
