I I live about 60 mile south of Chicago and the smoke and haze is so thick I can't even go outside!! Never seen anything like it!!!Hopefully the wind will shift and clear out some of it..

Yup I'm in southern Michigan about 1.5 hour from Chicago and it was really bad yesterday around here also.

I know what you mean, I live in Lansing Mi. And yesterday and today we have about the worst air quality numbers in the Nation! I shot yesterday from my garage out to 50yds for an about a half hr. And called it quits.
Air was so bad it actually reminded of Mirage through my scope at 45x.

We had over a 400 air quality index here a few weeks ago when this crap started.
Now today it's getting nasty. Nice headache comes along with it. Smells like some weird crap besides trees burning too. After the incompetence surrounding the East Palestine, OH "controlled burn" I figure it might as well be intentional extermination attempt at this point.

Smoke was really bad in the Detroit area today. There was no wind, would have been a great day to toss some lead. Smelled like a campfire all day long. Wind picked up around 1700 and took the smell but still hazy. I am hoping for less smoke and haze tomorrow. First time I have wanted sustained high winds, go figure.

Yep, we're getting our second round of it in the mid-Atlantic region. It was light today, but supposed to be really bad again starting tomorrow.

I'm about 940 miles south and a little west of Chicago. No smoke here, just hot, no damn hot. heat indexes 110-115. The last time we had smoke was 2011 when there were wildfires north and south of my location in E. Texas. My grandson was born Aug 31 that year and we delayed going over to Jackson, Ms to meet him by about 3 weeks in case I needed to evacuate anything from the home. I was working part time and actually drove throgh some heavy smoke, and some grass fires along the highway, nothing big though. Later we did see where the fire jumped interstate 20, about 40 miles west of Shreveport.
