how about the Hawke Airmax ,have it mounted on a HW97,no problems,I think mine is 4x12x40,,like it a lot,always try to use 1pc mount,oh I do not think it is illuminated,

I have the UTG above ,it is heavy, may be ok .

Yes, the Hawke was my default but no IR. Probably a UTG but they are often big and heavy and this is already a heavy gun so was hoping to avoid it. Will check out a few that Jungleman recommended.

Wahoowad,

for short and light scopes there are quite a few options, even with your price restrictions. But they all don't have illumination.

Just about anything with a IR is going to be big and heavy!!! If you're mostly bench shooting or plinking in the back yard it's not a big deal...but I'm a hunter and don't like the bulk and the extra weight of those types of scopes! Its also just something else to fail from the abuse that a springer produces...

Did I say I don't like IR scopes!!! Lol.
