Salem (NY) Pistol and Rifle Club 2023 N50 Benchrest Schedule

The Salem Pistol and Rifle Club will be hosting a full season of National 50 Benchrest matches this season. The club has 16 concrete benches under cover as well as a covered area for equipment and cleaning. We are located about an hour north of Albany close to the Vermont border at 430 Black Creek Rd, Salem New York 12865. We have extensive experience hosting both Rimfire and Air Rifle BR matches including many State and Regional Championships, as well as the 2017 USARB Nationals.

The attached schedule is pending club approval at next months meeting and all matches before we put up the covers over the benches in mid May are weather permitting. We are hoping the foot of snow we got this week melts before our first scheduled double match on March 26th! Match fees are $10 per 3 target match.

Awsome what are the rifle limits? Power max and such? Also what is the recommended affordable hotel for travelers ?

See Mike's post below for the complete rules, but basically it's any caliber between .177 and .30 with a 100fpe limit.
As far as lodging goes, there is not much close to the range. One small motel in Cambridge about 15 minutes from the range and a campground with some rental units about 10 minutes out. The nearest chain hotels are 30+ miles away in Bennington VT, Saratoga or the Glens Falls area.

Hoping to make it to Salem for N50
I usually practice 25m br and have two rifles set up for it, however nobody seems to shoot 25m
Looking at rifles now for N50.
Probably go with red wolf Or brockock.25.
Not sure what most people are using for this discipline.

Hi Jim, I'm kind of new to this long distance stuff myself. Lots of experience at 25m with my RAW's but just learning the long distance holds. I have a RAW HM-1000X and an Impact M3 set up for 50 and 100 yards. Most of the guys shooting 50 yards here are shooting FX rifles, but there is a guy shooting a very competitive Vulcan 3. Hope you can join us!
