Hello. New guy here. I'm ready to buy my first high end PCP. Have a .22 mrod but I need more! After months of research, comparing everything on the market and lots of soul searching I have decided on a RAW HM 1000x. in .25 cal. with the carbon fiber bottle. I just placed an order for this gun with Straight Shooters yesterday but I can still change it if i do it soon. My thing is long range target shooting. By long range I mean as far as I can push it. More than 100 yards. Whats the limit? I want to find out. 175? 200? I currently shoot my Marauder to 125 but thats about all she will do accuracy wise and its not great at that distance. I don't have a lot of wind to contend with most of the time. So my question is this. Is the .25 or .30 better for this? From what I have read the .25 should have a flatter trajectory from this gun than the .30. The HM 1000x pushes the JSB 25.39 in .25 cal at 980 fps while the .30 pushes the. JSB 44.75 to around 880 fps. I went with the .25 because of pellet selection and cost and because I think the flatter trajectory will serve me better. But I really like the idea of having a .30 cal air rifle! They seem to be all the rage these days. However the .25 seems, more practical. I guess I'm looking for some validation that I made the right choice. What say you experts? Thanks.
