Quit Screwing Around: Lets see those SPRINGER GROUPS

"H0rizonfire"Wow, those are some pretty epic groups. This is the best that I have pictures of. 2 on the edge are figuring out hold and windage. The rest is a 5 shot group at 20yds. Crossman phantom 1000 with rws superdomes.

I stopped shooting for about a year and just picked ot back up. Hopefully Ill have some better groups this weekend.
The phantom is the 1st springer I ever had and was pretty darn accurate

Life's been throwing me curve balls lately and kept me out of the running on the Long Rangers springer challenge. So I've retreated to my 10m shooting lane in the house/garage to assuage my grief and annoy my wife. Tonight's session produced a really nice result. Shooting a .177 WALMART GUN, mounting a 3-12x40 BARSKA SCOPE, and using HATSAN VORTEX PELLETS in .177. Basically a perfect storm of low-end airgunning equipment - just the way I like it! Anyway, here's my 5-shot group at 10 meters:

Here is a .177 pellet, 8.64 gr, to provide a perspective on the size of the group:

The springer I used to shoot this is a Walmart exclusive model from Crosman, the Crosman F4 in .177; it's pretty much a Fury or Fire in it's own unique stock. My F4 uses a factory de-tuned Nitro Piston action shooting somewhere in the high 500's, I think. No chronograph available so I'm just SWAGing it. Between this gun and the Daisy 853 I purchased, indoor shooting through the Winter looks bearable.

Here's a handful of springer groups (all groups are 5-shots each);

Air Arms Pro-Sport .177 at 30 yards

Air Arms TX200 Hunter Carbine .177 at 30 yards;

Another HW98 50-yard group shot this morning in a light varying cross breeze

Also decided to pull out the Benjamin trail NPXL .177 this morning. To my surprise it shot well at 50 yards! For having a super hard trigger compared to my other rifles, and a terrible scope that absolutely will not focus, I was impressed
