Pyramyd Air's latest catalog #11

Got one in the mail today and one thing popped out more than anything else.
Inside the front cover is a letter from CEO Emeritus Joshua D Ungier which
states in part:

"Later this year we're bringing out products airgunners have only dreamed of, some of you never saw coming, and others that will change airguns forever. All I can say for now is that you can expect an item later this year that will "shatter your world!""

Interesting choice of words. PA you will find if you google them is also a USA Defense Contractor.

So what would "shatter" your airgun world???

The only thing I can think of is a 3K psi gun with the power output of a powder burner!

Hmmmmmm!

Since we're dreaming....

One of these days, I expect someone to design an airgun using a two-fold piezoelectric scenario. First to measure the tank's air pressure, and then as a precisely-timed valve. There are drawbacks.

Pressure isn't the issue, because piezo valves are used in direct-injected engines where the fuel pressure can exceed 4,000 bar! Measuring the air pressure with a strain gauge is easy too, but operating the valve isn't, as it requires about 90 volts DC. The good part is the valve timing! How does plus or minus one microsecond sound? Expensive? Now it is, but perhaps not 5 years from now.

unfortunately what would make the biggest difference for the airgun world is very likely and that is a hpa compressor for sub $400 capable of long life and filling tank quickly and 4500psi tanks for $200 and under. this is the biggest issue that I hear from all my customers....they would love to get a pcp and are fine spending $500 or more on the gun but they can't or won't spend another $5-700 on tanks etc. its just to much.

I agree with that issue too Joe. However, short cuts along the way, are often long cuts when it comes to monies. I just wish I had purchased exactly what I needed up front, as I would have saved enough to buy yet another PCP! And I would have listened to my intuition, rather than listen to a couple of charlatans masquerading as legitimate dealers! Present company excluded obviously.

Maybe, but if they make them the equal of firearms, you can bet you will be filling out BATFE forms to buy them.

I think this concern is overstated much of the time. Black powder requires no Federal forms and they are just as lethal as any gun. Many a man was buried on boot hill as the result of black powder weapons and an entire Civil War was fought using said same so I don't think it is much of a concern for Air Guns. ;)
